Jennifer Check (Megan Fox) is the sexy, popular captain of the high school cheerleading squad. All of the girls want to be friends with her, and all of the boys want to have sex with her. Jennifer’s friend since childhood, Anita “Needy” Lesnicky (Amanda Seyfried), is a nerdy, substantially less popular, “plain jane” student. Jennifer ends up as the sacrifice in a Satanic ritual, held by a rock band, hoping that the sacrifice will increase their chances of getting a record deal. The ritual goes horribly wrong, causing Jennifer to get possessed by a demon and start feeding off of the boys in her high school; First seducing them to get close, and then consuming them in a manner similar to that of a Succubus. It becomes Needy’s goal to stop Jennifer from killing more of her classmates.

Gibbons has just the man, a former Navy Seal and member of his old military unit. However, Darius Stone (Ice Cube) was put in a military prison for 20 years, because he disobeyed a direct order from General George Deckert (Willem Dafoe), and he also broke the general’s jaw. Just the man Gibbons needs to do the job. Gibbons gets Stone out of prison, and puts him to work. Stone discovers that Deckert, who is now the secretary of defense, is the mastermind of a conspiracy to stage a coup, and become President of the United States. Deckert has been training and placing his old military unit in the right places to stage his coup. Deckert wants the President killed and anybody above him in the line of secession. Darius Stone has other plans and is out to stop Deckert.

Six youngsters are on their way to a highly anticipated football game. Carly Jones (Elisha Cuthbert) is an ambitious young woman who is planning to move to New York. Her boyfriend Wade (Jared Padalecki) is a small-town boy who is hesitant about moving to the big city. They are joined on their trip by Carly’s friend Paige Edwards (Paris Hilton) who may be pregnant with her boyfriend Blake’s (Robert Ri’chard) child, although she hasn’t told him yet. Blake has invited Carly’s twin brother Nick Jones (Chad Michael Murray), a juvenile delinquent, to come along; Nick comments that their parents say Carly is the “good twin” and he is the “bad twin”. Nick has brought along his rather annoying and immature friend, Dalton Chapman (Jon Abrahams). When night falls the group decides to set up camp for the night in a field. The campsite is visited by a mysterious stranger in a truck who shines his lights at the campsite, but refuses to leave, speak, or turn off his lights. Nick throws a beer bottle at the truck, breaking a headlight. Later that night, when everyone is asleep, Carly detects someone entering their camp.

This classroom scenario is seen to be the dream of River Tam, who is in a drugged sleep under confinement at the Alliance Academy facility, being groomed as some form of programmed assassin. We see River’s brother, Dr. Simon Tam, infiltrate the lab and free her; then we see the breakout was a security recording viewed after the event by the Operative. He has orders to deal with the security lapse and the project director’s failure as well as to find and ensure River’s return.

A year later, the house is sold to George (Ryan Reynolds) and Kathy Lutz (Melissa George) for a cheap price. They ask why so cheap, and they were told that the DeFeo family was murdered in the house. George tells his wife that houses don’t kill, people do. So they move in with their three children and start a new life. Unfortunately, their dream house becomes a nightmare. George begins to hear voices and the process starts all over again. The longer they are in the house, the worse it gets, and everything comes to a climax on the 28th day.

Hartigan (Bruce Willis) races to the docks to prevent Junior (Nick Stahl) from raping and murdering 11-year-old Nancy. His partner, Bob (Michael Madsen) tries to stop him but Hartigan knocks him out. After disarming Junior’s henchmen, Hartigan corners Junior on a pier. Junior tries to use Nancy as a shield but Hartigan is too good of a shot, and blows off Junior’s ear before shooting him in the groin. But before Hartigan can finish him off, Bob shoots Hartigan in the back. Junior’s father is a powerful senator and Bob knows who calls the shots. Hartigan goads Bob into shooting him several more times to keep him from killing Nancy before more police officers arrive.

Newspaper reporter Rachel Keller (Naomi Watts) and her son Aidan (David Dorfman) have moved to a small town, Astoria, Oregon, to get away from the terrifying events that happened to them in Seattle. Rachel now works for the local newspaper, The Astoria Gazette, when she hears on the police scanner that the police are investigating the mysterious death of a teenager. Rachel goes to the crime scene and discovers that Samara Morgan is back, starting a new cycle of death by taking her revenge on the people of Astoria. Aidan begins to lose body temperature, so Rachel takes him to the hospital. Hospital doctors find bruises on Aidan, and they believe Rachel has been abusing him. Rachel is barred from seeing Aidan until an investigation is completed. To stop what is happening to Aidan, Rachel goes back to the home of Samara Morgan in Seattle to find the truth.

A quack doctor prescribes a course of experimental therapy, restraining him in a heavy duty straight jacket-like device, and locks him away in a body drawer of the basement morgue. During course of his treatment he gets flashbacks and visions of his future , where he can foresee he is to die in four days time. The catch is he doesn’t know how. Thus commences the classic race against time.
